Thomas D. Coats, M.D. – General Ophthalmology

Thomas D. Coats, M.D. has been a resident of Montgomery County for more than forty years. He graduated from Abington High School and Lafayette College. He worked briefly as an engineer before returning to medical school at Jefferson Medical College. After medical school, he took his internship at Abington Memorial Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Coats is board-certified in ophthalmology. He is currently on staff at Wills Eye Hospital, Abington Memorial Hospital, Montgomery Surgery Center and Lansdale Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Montgomery County Medical Society. His interests are in cataract surgery and contact lenses.
